just got this award,i think this is late 1945 period,any help with time frame and possible name of the winner is greatly appreciated.

The Type 2 Nevsky wasn't authorized for production until June 1943. This how ever is a Type 3 and came into existence just before the end of the war and was the last variant of this order. Nor then likely with a higher serial number, it was issued after the war. You are going to have to contact an archive to get a better date.

It looks to me like it could be a copy. Do you have an accurate weight of the piece?

I bought it from collector of Russian awards in NY,my digital scale is broken but i will buy new one and will provide weight of the piece.

If I were you, I'd have this authenticated by someone who knows what they're doing...as I have to agree with Red October...I think this is a copy. They've been making really good copies of these for the better part of a decade now...
