    Warsaw Pact groupings with Soviet Awards

    Hello all - I want to start a new thread to see what others have in their collections when it comes to Warsaw Pact groupings with Soviet awards.

    I have posted only an overview to show a grouping that belonged to a former intelligence and security (MVR - Ministry of Interior) Bulgarian officer.

    For Military Merit - 1956
    Honorable Service Ministry for Internal Affairs 10 years, 3rd class - 1961
    Jubilee, 20th Anniversary of the Ministry for Internal Affairs - 1964
    Jubilee, 25th Anniversary of People's Rule - 1969
    Jubilee, 25th Anniversary of the Ministry for Internal Affairs - 1969
    Soviet Order of the Red Star - 1969
    Order of the 9th September 1944, 2nd class - 1977
    Order of the Red Banner 1981

    I am interested to see what others have in their collections.

    Nice set, Ralph! In taking all of the awards into account, the fact that this individual was MVR and, especially, the date of the Soviet Red Star award, I'm wondering if this individual had a role in putting down the Czechoslovakian uprising of 1968...? Just me thinking.

      Greg - thanks for your comments from your last post and interesting point that you made. Right now I am in the process of getting the Soviet badge researched, however with that said, certain archives in Russia are closed when it comes to awards presented to intelligence and security officers. But I am still checking.

        REALLY nice group!!!

        The only time I've ever seen other boxes like that have been with Soviet awards to Americans...quite interesting.

        What's the number on the Red Star?

          Thanks for your comments about the case in my grouping, much appreciated. I am glad that I was able to add another unique grouping like this one to my collection. The number of the RS is 3.7 million and awarded in 1969.
