    Cap star, wartime!?

    Hello folks!
I have been offered this two-part cap star. I believe it to be wartime, due to the construction. Or maybe even pre-war?
    What do you think?

    Regards,
    Erik

Glad i'm not the only one trying to learn to identify cap stars. Thanks for your answer Kommandir..!

Sorry to hijack thread, but what era does this one date from? Star looks painted to me, rather than enamel, but not like the bright red 1980s ones..

Cap star in the first post is pre-war (late '30's); in the '40's through '50's the stars were made of brass or steel, were one piece and the enamel was hot. Very nice find, by the way. The badge in post #3 looks to be a late model badge, one piece, probably of a light alloy and with a cold enamel (paint) finish (post '70's would be my guess).
