I have a Russian Orthodox Church painting of Christ pre Communist Revolution

Hi I do not know the right form to go for this item and I figured Communist Militaria would be the best choice. This is a Russian Orthodox Church painting of Christ being baptized that was smuggled out of Russia during the Communist Revolution. It has been in my family through four generations. I was wondering what is the value of such an item and if any experts here could help me out where to go to find out more information.

    Thanks again for the help!

You really need a fine arts appraiser who specializes in Russian art. I would suggest you start by contacting the ISA (International Society of Appraisers) and reviewing their directory of experts.
I am a member of this organization and they should have an appraiser that can help you.
Yes they have an online directory.

most icons are a small size. This is Jesus being baptized by John the Baptist.
I'd follow Jims advice,,this could be a couple hundred or a couple thousand so check it out...
