    NKVD in Leningrad Pass

    Hello gentlemens,

I need your help on one of my recent find.

Judging from my little (nearly inexistant) knowledge in russian, it is a pass for a NKVD Inspector (a russian friend of mine read "Inspector Andrey Khalampievitch Klimov"), made in Leningrad in May '42 (during the blocus), to grant him free access in some districts in the center of the besieged city.

But as I am not familiar with this kind of paper, I am confused on the written annotations. What does the text, under the name, mean ? The name of the districts is written, but what is the signification of "РУПО" ?

Hope you can help me !

    Best Regards !

    Hello klauklau

When it comes to your ID I can`t tell as this is not my field but on a general basis I can tell you these soviet IDs really scared me a couple of years ago. Another member posted this photo - every ID is a reproduction. So this is a mine field and I didn`t know that:

Thank you for your entry !

I have nearly no doubts about this document, it is a real fleamarket find (not from a tourist shop !) in St-Petersburg. I know it isn't a complete proof of authenticity, but the paper have all the characteristics of a period paper !

Waiting for other opinions as well on klauklau`s ID

          Hello Marius,

Your ID is very impressive ! What are the red flags on it (I am not comfortable in this thema)

From another forum, I had the information that this document is an ID card for a state inspector for fires in the town (fire-fighting is one of the fields of the NKVD).
OGPH is his function : State Inspector for fire-fighting
and RUPO means something like "Defense and Fire-fighting Department"
