russian trousers?

Hello Gents!

What are your opinions on this trousers? It's made of black wool with heavy padding. I've never seen anything like this before, but the cut reminds me of the russian winter trousers!

Could well be Russian, but some other eastern European and Asian (China, Mongolia...) countries also used (and still do use) that kind of vinter trousers. More likely civilian, due to "civilian" lining. Solzhenitsin mentiones in his books that inmates in soviet camps used black padded garments in vinter, but it can be also for civilian workers, railway personel, truck or tractor drivers... Interesting piece anyway.
