Can anyone identify any of these Pins/Medals?

My Latvian Great Grandfather worked with the Russians during WWII. We believe he was some sort of engineer, no one in the family is quite sure what he did during WWII. We just know that he was a very bright man and according to my Grandma he was constantly traveling to different countries throughout his life.

Can anyone identify the medals on his chest? Any help I can get would mean a lot to me and my 84 year old grandmother. She has always wondered what her father did.

the medals are Medal for Distinguished Labor (1943 - 1960s) & Labor Veteran Medal 1970s/1980s. hopefully someone else will help you with the badges.

The badge above the medals is that of a winner of a socialist competition.
I cannot read the year that is on the badge in the photograph.

The badge on the viewer's left with oak leaves on it is the badge of a supporter of the volunteer police organization, known as a "Druzhinik" badge. Here are a group with a similar badge among them. I assume that the badge in the photo, which has the "waves" on it, was specifically for the Latvian organization.

Next to the police supporter badge the man wears two badges for a labor shock worker.
