    Soviet Patch Collectors?

Are there any Soviet patch collectors out there? I've been collecting these for around 17 years or so and seem to find myself as the odd man out. Most of what I see today are fakes or fantasy pieces, but here and there I pick up a new one.

If this photo should work, below is the main "group shot." I need to buy more riker mounts as I'm resorting to overlapping, but I can provide closeups of anything anyone would like to see.

    Fantastic collection.
A close up of the bottom row, last one on the right would be great.
What are your favorites, the rarest and any that you are trying to find, but can't?

    Regards,

Much obliged. As requested, here's the one case. I do believe the one patch is Albanian and not Soviet, but I profess I haven't removed it of yet and placed it in my "other" box, haha.

As for my favorites? Probably the honor guard patches. The cavalry patch I have is probably the rarest and the one patch I've turned down a small fortune for. Being I've never seen another except in a book, I'm inclined to hold on to it. The tissue and paper beneath the patch is the original wrapping material.

        A very nice collection !

I know that there are some collectors who specialize in the "dembel" patches, the branch of service patches that were embellished by the soldiers at the time of their discharge.

One problem, as you say, is that even the modern Soviet-era sleeve insignia is now being reproduced, let alone the magnificent and impressive patches that were worn by various Soviet military units prior to World War II.

Many thanks. I have a few dembels, but they too are getting hard to find (nice ones at least)

Very impressive collection. I have to ask "are they all authentic worn badges"?
An image of each case would be most welcome, and I am still missing the Cavalry Admin badge.

My late friend, Jim Dedman, and I would haggle about things. I know he wasn't a fan when I thought a few items were fake, but he was always a gentleman about it. I do miss him and being able to talk shop.

He mentioned you to me a few times, Marc. PM me your email address and I'll pass on closeups.
