    Some kind of award?

    Hi,

I have this heavy piece and planning to put it up on sale. Before that I would like to find out what it is actually. Can it be some kind of award, decorative piece or paper weight? It is ca. 7,5 cm high and 6 cm wide.

    Kind Regards,

    Noor

I am fairly sure that it is the same armoured car on top which Lenin held his famous speech 1917.

It looks to me as though it may have been a commemorative plaque for the 1917 revolution. I agree that it seems to be the armored car from which Lenin spoke. I'm wondering if there is any evidence that there was also a figure of Lenin on the plaque at one time, or any indication of anything more having been a part of the design? It seems that there should have been more to it than we now see.

I examined material again and there is no signs of any previous extra attachments. Few corner knocks only.

A moderator will soon post for me a relatively current view of "Lenin's" armored car taken from the other side. It's definitely what is shown on your plaque.

Next to the question of how much of the present day Aurora is still the original ship, whether or not the car in the Artillery Museum is actually the one that Vladimr Illych stood on is the second most unasked question in Russia... (and probably the least worried about, too)

          Regards
