        Very nice uniform and cap!
Why would a Navy man wear an Air Force oltlichnik badge? Shoudn't it be the Navy version?
And what is with the Navy Guards badge? Is that like a dembel kind of thing?
        Thanks,
        Eric Gaumann

          OUTSTANDING uniform group!

A Navy Guards unit uniform and cap from that period would be great, but to have a uniform from the aviation branch makes it truly impressive.

          You are very lucky !

It does look like this sailor gave his Guards ribbon a "dembel" treatment, but I think that makes it especially unique.

This man was a bomber crew member and this is the first year (1957) the Air Forces otlichnik badge was found. I think he was awarded with because he was the aircraft crew member.
The Navy Guards badge is handmade.
The Navy Guards badge wasn't come to units since 1951 and in 1961 was replaced with Army Guards badge.
But most of Guards units staff in 50-ies used old or handmade badges of first type.
By the way there are many wartime photos of Navy pilots wearing Army Guards badges.

              Thank you!
The Guards badge is handmade but the cap ribbon is quite rare type of the end of 40-ies to 50-ies.
