You are looking for "Ruusian Banners" by Alexander Victorov, ISBN 978-5-903521-19-7. It was printed in an edition of only 200 copies. A friend of mine with excellent contacts for finding books in Russia was in Peter last month and couldn't find a copy of it anywhere.

It is an excellent book and well worth tracking down. I bought mine several months ago from a dealer based in New Jersey who, I believe, only had one copy left in his stock back then...

For the record, "complete history" is not quite accurate. While there is a lot of good background history covering both the imperial and post-Soviet eras, the main thrust of the book is a detailed coverage of a broad selection of specific Soviet WW2 flags. While there are plenty of photos, a reader will really have to have at least a basic comprehension of the Russian language to completely enjoy it...

currently for the "Sous Les Plis Du Drapeau Rouge" book have
prices that vary from the publisher at 49.00 €, to amazon

best price, but slowest delivery time from Italy, at $28.67
