Opinions wanted on Order of the Red Star

I would like to get some opinions on this Order of the Red Star. Compared to the one I already own this one has what it looks like from these pics a bit less defined details yet still it does look convincing to me to be original. I prefer to have some more opinions to be 100% certain before I spend my money.

The pics are from the dealer and I do not have this badge in my possession so I can't provide better and more detailed pics.

IMO original ww2 version 466,000 is a low number. (depending on the asking price, I do not see any problems with it.(leave it just as it is)

Thank you Juoneen! I was just a bit worried about the lack of details on the soldier (rifle sling, face etc). Asking price is $ 130 so imo a good price for a low number.

Thanks Eric for your opinion. In the end I bought it anyway, and actually feel quite 'comfortable' with the price since I don't run into GPW dated stars regularly.
Still on the hunt though for cheaper ones as well hehe

Nice star with nice calligraphy.

You should research it, if its a good write up, youve made your $130 back already if you ever sell it.

Excellent, researching awards is my favourite part of soviet collecting.

Ive had awards from food procurement staff, to bomber flight engineers, to snipers to batallion commanders of American anti tank guns on lend lease.

This star is now in hands and it came together with another one

I believe both are from 1944 of the type 3 variant 1. They are numbered 466774 and 563101. I do believe that one back screwdisc is postwar, probably seventies (replacement for a lost original disc maybe??)

First star, no. 466774 with correct disc.

Nice ones! The original silver screwplates are hard to find.
I suspect that once the non-silver plates became available en mass the silver plates
were used for their precious metal content. At least, that's my theory.

So you think that far after the war those original backplates were melted for other purposes and were replaced by those new backplates by the owners/bearers? Or do I understand you wrong? Could be a possibility indeed. Or, as I also think, some just got lost for some reason and were replaced by these new backplates. Guess anything is possible here.

It's an original one, worth about $100.

Those later screwplates were used from the late 1940s onward.

Some were lost, sure. But the amount of orignal orders with non-sllver
screwplates is pretty high - well above 50%. It begs the question; if one
"lost" the back-half of the order why didn't one lose the front part as well.
