    Soviet officers visiting the STASI...

Hello all...I wanted to post a couple photos to let some of know that I am still around but have been very busy cataloging a bunch of new STASI items for my collection. The two photos that I am posting are of Soviet officers visiting a STASI office celebration and the photos were taken around the 1975 timeframe. I hope you enjoy them...

      Hi Ralph,

Great photos. That ain't Vodka that Soviet Officer is drinking in the first pic. I'll bet it's Congac.

Is the insignia on the Tunic Collar of the Russian Officers in the two pics Armor, or am I just seeing it wrong? If Armor, then interesting that these guys are at a Stasi party.

They maybe GRU, or anything really ,as Big,Big men can wear any uniform they wish to defend world peace.

These are old Pictures due to the Soviet officers orders of dress.

          East Germans for sure but.....

          Hi
there are East Germans pictured here, 2 for sure...are they Stasi? plainclothes, maybe...the 2 in NVA uniform don't seem to be Stasi although Stasi/HVA could be wearing any NVA uniform...

Hello all...some good questions are coming out of the thread. So I have uploaded the only other image of this scene and hope this image will answer your interesting questions. The person with his back in the picture is a STASI general with the person on the right also being STASI.

Aah Ralph, you codger you.....holding the best picture out for last.

That guy on the right in the parade tunic definitely is Stasi. Great photograph Ralph. Many cudos for posting. It is seldom if ever, you get to see one of these "Blokes" in actual uniform - and with decorations to boot!!!

              Thanks big time. Excellant.

One observation I'd like to make and point out to all: If you look at the ribbons the medals are hanging from, you will note they are worn NVA, and not MdI style.

Hey Mike...I am so sorry about that...please forgive me...and please don't talk to management to have me banned from the forum. I was posting to show the Soviet side since the forum is in that direction right now. I won't allow that to happen again...or at least until maybe tomorrow...

The fact that there is not gold border on the Soviet L/Colonel's collar patches would make this photograph around the 74-75 tim frame correct as stated.
                  Great photo, nice one!
