    Its the oral memory of one Red Army soldier, translated into English without trying to loose the flavour of how the original story was told...

    I'd say it was no worse than any other book of its type.

    Price? It was the normal price for a hardback book over here in England....

    No, I maintain its practically unique as a historical reference - until the next one comes out.

      I just didn't like it. MHO that's all. Nothing against the guy, the glorious red army or mother russia. I looked forward to it, but I thought the writing dribbled..and it was a tad boring. $35 dollar sleeping pill.

      Now take for example a $12 copy of Russia's Heroes 41-45. Now that was a good read.

      Gary's listings look interesting.

      Anyone want to recommend a book on Zhukov?
      Don't believe everything you read on the internet, that's how WWI got started.
