    Service to the Motherland

This is a great thread. I also have one of the early "Variation 1" third class orders. I'm wondering just how many were made. Mine is number 2347 and was, at the time of Paul's book, the lowest serial number observed for a third class. Does anyone have one with a higher number? So far, the lowest I've seen is 1113. Has anyone seen one for sale since this variation was "discovered". I'm curious what the current market price is for these.

    All the best,

    Doug

Well, I paid a hefty hunka change, but I was actually more taken with the North Vietnamese Feat Of Arms Order and other stuff that came in this group (Presidium issue 1978 Military Jubilee Medal document, etc!)-- but all the interest I've had for the group (hey, forget proof of Soviet combat troops in Vietnam!!! ) has been over this piece.

I've only seen one other one for sale, no Orders Booklet.

Rick, could you post a pic of the complete group? With these Vietnam awards to a soviet officer it sound very interesting.

btw. Can we guess the names of the cats ?
