    Bulgarian Mig 17 Flight books

Hello, a recent pickup and I like it very much. These are the four flight books for a Bulgarian Mig 17 A, #124, made 18/9/53. The first marked Bulgarian flight is 12/10/62 and the last 12/11/89. They contain hundreds of flights. Are log books like these very collectable? Best, Bill Bourque

Can anyone tell me what these last two docs mean? The one is titled ATECTAT and couldnt find anything on the web and there are about 30 of them. Bill

Bill - Very interesting thread and collection you have acquired. It would be interesting to know if the MIG still survives or even find a photo of the aircraft.

As for being collectable, that would depend I think on the collecting community. I think folks who deal with aircraft artifacts would find your books of interest.

Being a military aviator and aviation enthusiast I think the logbooks are very interesting. It generally depends on the interest of the collector.

Hello, well I bought the whole damm Mig, every part down to the rivets. I have built all the models , gone to all the airshows and visitied all the museums and done RC flights. When I sat down to put together a Mig model not too long ago after a few beers I said " Ive had it with models" and I went out and bought the ex Bulgarian Mig 17, #124. It will be delivered to me in January and I plan on doing what I can to get it to static display status in the next few years of my retirement. A few years ago I was stunned to find out the aircraft I find the most appealing and desirable was the cheapest out there after the fall of the Iron Curtain. At $8k price and $4k to ship I hypnotically hit the buy button. After selling off some German items that have gone way up in value over the years and making 100% profit I was set. Here are some pics. Best, Bill

Bill - OMG!!! You have my interest peaked even more from the standpoint to know that you bought the entire aircraft and now get it brought to your location. I would be very interested if you would update this thread from time to time with the status of your new project. CONGRATS!!!

Well the cat is out of the bag!
Congrats Bill! A Luftwaffe 1946 "what if" paint scheme perhaps?
                            Just kidding!
