    What Soviet Uniform is this?

I am sure that it is something very straight forward for you guys but I have not idea what this KB uniform is? It is dated 1982 and it has a OBOLENSK (Moscow District) metall sleeve patch with another Minsk MBO sleeve patch. Could someone please explain to me what this is? Cheers, Torsten.

Construction and Searchlight troops. sometimes they did this to look more fancy. Once I had one for rocket troops. with Brass Letters on the Boards.

            Genosse torstenbel,
It is a" going home" uniform , the returning hero of Mother Russia drinking himself senseless on the train journey home.

Was Minsk MBO where he trained then and Obolensk where he served or why would these two different place names be on the patches on the sleeve? Was this Army or some other organisation and if Army then why do the shoulder boards not have CA on them? Cheers, Torsten.

                Torsten,
Dembel Uniforms are out of every Regulation, so nothing has to meet the R's.
All of the Item's has a relation to the Service, but it doesn't means that everything has to be "Real" in the meaning of a Textbook Item. They do it for several reasons, but one reason is to make Mom proud of their Kid when they walk down the Street in a small Village, looking more fancy as the Generals on TV. So, as everything comes from the Phantasy of the wearer, it's hard to say, what was the Place of Enlistment, Training, Service or anything else. Also the lack of the "Circus Aljosha" doesn't mean that he didn't served in the Army.
I have to find my Rocket Troops Boards I still have. Also out of Regulation.
BTW: Most Ossies called the CA "Camping Alemania".

                  Hi Nico,

thank you for that explanation. I had no idea that they could just make up their going home uniform as they wished .... that seems to me almost like an alien concept when it comes to army uniforms?? I assume that they were not allowed to change their rank or give themselves any awards and decorations that they had not earned?? Otherwise, they would all have gone home as Marshalls, covered in Orders of Lenin?? Cheers, Torsten.

I think it's not allowed to Rank-Up or Medal up the Uniforms, but there are loads of Non-Award Badges to use and lot's of methods of Modifications to the Uniform and especially the Insignia like Boards or BOS Patches.
