Original early post-war SSh 40 Helmet??

    Hi,
I just got it and i would appreciate your oppinion on this Soviet Helmet.
The number of rivets (6) and its position on the lower portion of the shell tells me its a SSh40 Soviet helmet. The stamp marks shows that its a size 1 (small) and was produced in 1948. The stamp is LMZ (with the overlapping ЛM3 logo - Lysvensky Metallurgical Plant??). The three parts Canvas linner looks OK. I don't know about the chin strap. I've been told that the narrow dark green colored chin strap 16-18 mm in width and buckle with the broader frame flanks are the characteristic features of these helmets.

What about the 1925 stamp??? What does it means??? 1925 is the serial number of the party helmets made in that year???

    Regards

No this helmet style wasn't used by the RSFR in 1925. I do see a 1948 but I do not think that it is a date. Maybe a factory mark ??

I ment that the year of production was 1948 and, the number 1925 (?) could be a refurbishing number (some kind of control).

Your Steel Helmet of a military sample is made in 1948, REPAIR (All helmets from army repair, worn in front parts. At repair the new paint layer is put, valves etc. are replaced) the small size of the head, the 1st growth, is about 53. As to number 1925 it is number of party and no more, it not year! LMP: Lysva Metallurgical Plant.
          Example on images.

            1925- control stamp- not year.
            1948 date of repair.
