    Soviet Partisans 1st Class

I'm getting conflicting information as to when this badge may have been made. I have been told that it's late wartime make and also told it's post war 1950s. I was hoping to get some options.

The decree was established in '43. The earlier medals had a soldered ring. When exactly they went from the soldered ring to the stamped ring I can't say but probably in line with all the other medals (50s?).
These medals are highly faked, BTW.
    Thanks,
    Eric Gaumann

It definately has a solder ring. Very clean. I don't see the usual signs of casting and it looks to me like it matches the images in the Complete Soviet Awards referance books. Do you think it is real??

With that one, fuzzy image I have no clue at all.
If you can provide well-lit and focused images of front and back, and closeups of the faces on the front and the H&S on the back (plus a good look at the ring) I'd be happy to opine. And maybe Paul &/or Azad could chime in as well. Also, what does the suspension look like?
        Thanks,
        Eric Gaumann

            Better pics needed...

Better pics are needed. I can't see any detail in the ones you've posted.

I agree on the better pics.. Stalin's nose looks good to me so far though.

              Thank you,
              Scott

Definitely better photos. I do not like the lack of detail and rounded edges... although this may just be an effect of the photos?

Here is my example I got off Alexei Merezhko years ago. Beat to crap, but obviously worn with pride by the recipient Savely Lukitch Grischenko on May 18, 1949.

I don't have the doc with the medal. I do have a seperate document from the Belrus SSR identifying a partisan. I'll have to take better pics of the medal sunday.

Pics are an improvement but still not clear enough. My suggestion is to study yours and compare it with the ones on this site:

Thank you leaftree for the link. What it looks like is a early " Option 2 " listed on the link. Both the H&S and Lenin's beard back that up. The ring has been quite worn on the right side of the medal face yet it is still there. The Nose and ribbon details match as shown in " Comnplete Guide To Soviet Awards and Medals" The ribbon backing is a rarer subvariation of the brass series with no front plate. This also back up in the book and being war time or early post war years. Sorry all about the picture grades earlier.
