Here are some shots of an interesting cap star. This might simply be an odd variation, but may got to some specific head gear. Any clues. What is particularly unique about it is the degree to which it is vaulted.

We've got a similar one, 37mm wide, extremely vaulted and two piece construction . No idea if it was for a particular application or just another manufacturer's variation, of which there are many.

Rick, it certainly will fit. It's just that it is so vaulted much more so than any variation I have ever seen. I suspect that it is simply a variation, but you just never know...

I had one of these pinned to the front of an early 1970s Pilotka that had been worn in Afghanistan apparently. May just be a soldiers field modification.
