Here is a 1955 dated, Moscow made MVD (Interior Troops) officer's cap, with the new M1955 cockade in gilt brass. I've seen only a few of these caps in any variety and no uniforms for this period!

This is the ONLY cap I've ever seen, officer's dated 1959, Moscow made for the "VOKhR" ("BOXP" in Cyrillic)--
"Internal Guard For The Protection of the Republic"-- according to "The Gulag Handbook"by Jacques Rossi (a former Gulag prisoner), this organization was divided into interior guards at forced labor (Gulag) camps, "normal" prison interior guards, and railway guards. He says the officers were drawn from NKVD/MVD, while the other ranks were "volunteers" signing up in three year enlistments-usually ex-servicemen attempting to put in enough service to avoid being forced to return to the collective farm of their birth.
I have no idea what branch this blue/green/orange combination represents. Belt buckles, and occasionally shirts etc stripped of insignia but bearing the VOKhR buttons (blank star with stylized crossed rifles behind) turn up, but I've never seen anything else.Attached Files
