Need help to ID this Russian WW2 fighter plane

Would someone be so kind to help me identify the model and make of this shot down Russina aircraft?

It apears to be a fighter plane. The photo was taken in the area of KURSK,Ukraine July 1943. Thanks.

    best regards,
    Remy <><

It looks like a Yakovlev Yak 9 (you had the 1,3, 7 and 9 with minor differences the way to tell an early one from a later one is the cockpit)

The pic being July 1943 it could well be a Yak 3 thinking about it, the 9's and it's variants were the last and they came in in late 43 to early 44 (around that)

        Kind regards,

        Marcus

Not sure about this being a Yak 3. I thought that the Yak 3 was not available for service until October 1943, which would make it more likely that this is a late Yak 1 variant.
