      Hi rkhunter,
Just a quick question, how do you get research done for these awards, are the records on line somewhere? If not, how much does it cost per award?
I have two WW2 Red Stars and I have often wondered who they were awarded to and for what. Such an iconic medal that I had to get an example for my collection and I was offered two at a good price.
      many thanks

Many of the Soviet collectors here will also recommend Auke, he is very good at what he does..!

If you know the name of the individual the Red Stars were awarded to, try using

            Hi,
Thanks for the advice. Think I should get some research done. Sadly I do not know who the medals were awarded to as there is no award documents with either of them. From the numbers on them, it appears that one was awarded in 1945 and the other was either 1942 or 43, need to dig them out and check the number again.
            Thanks once again.

Yes, Auke is the man to go for this at the moment. Great individual with a vast knowledge of the russian language and soviet military linguistic.

That´s a lovely Red Star, rkhunter. Congrats to the research!
