Can You Help With These Photos?

I'm doing rather well with my efforts to read Russian, but only if it is printed. I am at a complete loss when it comes to handwriting.

Can anyone here help me with the captions to these photographs?

The first photograph includes an "NKVD" reference but, beyond that, I'm without a clue.

This is the young son of the man who appears in the above photograph.
Perhaps he is wearing the uniform of a student at an engineering school?

A portrait photograph of an NKVD officer wearing the "Honored Chekist" badge.

Can anyone read the notation of the back of the photo?

        Thanks !

In memory from Plaudis(?), to Comrade (?).

              8.7.47

              Riga

I can't read handwriting of two names, but Plaudis sounds like an ethnic Latvian name.

                desantnik....
Thank you very, very much !
                I truly appreciate it.

I'm going to presume that the only fellows that were allowed to hang out at an NKVD sanatorium were NKVD officers. There are other photographs (not posted) of the same fellow in the 1920's wearing the Militia uniform, with the early Soviet police badge, and later WW II period photos of him in uniform. One of them was colored, with blue coloring used for the piping and shoulder boards so, again, most likely he was NKVD after service in the militia. He eventually wears the Order of Lenin and two Red Banners in the photos.
