    Naval Daggers.

Found these Daggers while cleaning up a bit. The Top one is from My Uniform.
How much are they worth today? I bought them 20 Yrs ago from a Naval Base in Poland, so I think the prices raised a bit.

I recall I bought daggers like these (1970-1980s issue) in Estonia in 2006-2007 at 150 EUR a piece. I think that is the price level. The problem with daggers, based on my own experience, is that they are classed as weapons and tricky to ship, especially to USA.

Maybe they should classify potatoknives as a dangerous weapon. These Daggers are for Decoration. In Germany we have a funny Term called "Zweckbestimmung" what might be translated as intended purpose.
Means, When I started my Business, I bought some Boot Knives from a wholesale Dealer in Western Germany. He told me these "Combat Knives" can't be shipped to Berlin because of it's Allied Status. I told him he should send them as Boot Knives. After I sent some Official Letter to him were the authorities clarified that the intended purpose of this Knife is only to carry them in the Boot and not as a Combat Knife, they're allowed. Also A Bowie Knife was Illegal. A Bowie Knife carried by a Boy Scout was Legal. So, these Daggers are for Decoration, what are they? Deco or a Weapon?

As far as postal workers are concerned, they seem to be classified as so-called killer murder weapons of NAZI. Of course they "can" be dangerous but in the hands of the wrong individual, what can't?

I think it will be hard to get that kind of money for 1980s daggers. I have a 1957 Army dagger which I have tried to sell at that price for a while without anyone really willing to spend.

Hey, even a toothpick can be dangerous in the wrong hands!

                  My personal opinion on values:

The 1945 dagger would be the most valuable as it has a WW II date.
I believe that I have seen them sell on Ebay in the range of $450 to $500 dollars.

The 1950's daggers I would value in the $250-$300 range.

The 1980 dagger is similar to one that I believe sold here on the estand a little while ago for $175.

Of course, they are not rare, and there is no shortage of them, except for the WW II dates. We are talking about a very large organization (the Soviet Navy) that had a large number of officers with daggers between 1946 and 1992.

But they are popular items, so it all comes down to supply and demand.

                    Bill,
                    thanks a lot for this.
In the Moment I'm not sure if I sell some or not. For sure not the 1980 one as it matches my Uniform what was made for me in 1991 by a Moscow Military Tailor. In these day's I had good contact's to these guy's and in Storage they didn't had one in my Size.

WOW! I remember seeing tables full of these daggers at SOS 10 years or so ago for $50. I'm sure they were the 1980's vintage pieces.

                        Yes, supply and demand.

Interestingly, there is a dealer who has for sale on his website a post-Soviet dagger of the Russian navy. Frankly, I have not seen any of those for sale, and I would think that it might be difficult to get them out of Putin's Russia. But I think that he has it priced at about the same figure as a late Soviet dagger. However, I guess there is not much demand for such an item, and it remains unsold.
