I picked up what I believe is a Czechoslovakian M85 (1985) Combat Shirt at a local thrift store the other day. It is in brand-new and unissued condition. From what I can tell from searching the net, this was the field shirt-jacket issued to paratroop and recon troops starting in about 1985 and ending when Czechoslovakia turned into the Czech Republic in 1989.
This shirt appears very similar to the Russian version.
The shirt is very well made and heavy. It has double pockets on the back, front and sleeves, with two pockets inside. The shirt came with two soft shoulder boards attached that indicate the rank of "private". There is an elastic cinch cord around the waist, inside. The pockets have a single button tab in the middle and two additional tabs on the sides..... VERY secure and would make sense for paratroops, etc.
I could only find one photo of this actual uniform shirt on the net, and it was described as a "recon" and "paratroop" shirt , model 1985. I also found a photo that showed a camo version photographed from the rear.
You can see the rear pockets on the back of the soldier on the right-front.
Here are a few photos of the shirt-jacket. Any additional info on this shirt would be greatly appreciated!
