Very rare ww2 ship’s model ship

This is the original ship’s model of the famous WW2 Russian heavy cruiser “ KIROV “ that sat aboard the same ship during WW2. There was only one. Very interesting history of the Kirov if you search on google. There were only 6 Russian Heavy Cruisers during WW2 with the Kirov being the most famous. Interesting that the largest Russian Naval Museum ( in St. Petersburg ) does not have an original model of any of them , only a model of the Kirov that was made in 2005. Please enjoy. All comments appreciated.

Its a lovely thing but probably its unique nature and historical significance suggests that the Leningrad Naval Museum is the best place for it?

Did you make the model? Was it home made?

BTW...Very nice and rustic looking model...

Not that I have that kind of pocket change laying around, it would be interesting to know how it came into your possession. Since I'm not buying the item, I think more of a "story" is required for historical reasons alone.

No I did not make the ship's model but purchased it while in the Baltic's in the early 90's , had a box custom made and shipped it back here .
It is the original model that sat on the Kirov during before and during WW2.
I have been in touch with the Russian naval museum as well as others.
I have a vast collection of original German , Russian , U S , etc. from WW2 and before , some I will show as time permits . Thats what collecting is all about , for fellow collectors to be able to share with each other and enjoy the hobby.

It seems that this forum allows one on here that only wants to needle others , maybe because thats all he knows to do. Interesting how many nicee original items he has posted ? Guess he has nothing to show himself.
Matters not , as a very wise man once said , " do not pay attention to fools.

I AM TRUELY SURPRISED THAT THIS FORUM'S MODERATOR ALLOWS SUCH , PROBABLY HE DOES NOT AND IS JUST NOT AWARE YET .

Anyway thanks a lot for the rest of you guys compliments and comments.

Yeah, maybe a bit over the top that one comment was, but it is the internet after all; ya take the good with the bad and move on.
By the same token I'm not a huge fan of dealers trolling my forum advertising their wares. Since it wasn't originally posted as such let us just leave it as it stands, shall we?

So, it's a very nice item. I wouldn't mind it on my dining room table as well. It would make it difficult to pass the potatos at dinner, but still, a nice conversation piece.
                    Thanks,
                    Eric Gaumann

                      Hi Eric,

Thanks , yes you would need long arms and just a few potatoes with it on the table. lol , but was the best place for me to take pics as my collection room is full and not as well lighted.
Really only put it here to share it with others as I am very proud of it. .
                      I appreciate your compliment.

                      Thanks,
                      Glenn
