Haha yes that color is really something, never saw any flora like this faded.

Here's my latest impression, a Russian 2nd Chechen War Uniform as possibly worn by OMON
Maybe also SOBR because of the helmet.

    With:
Random brand Urban Kamysh Sklon type Rain Suit
Urban Reed NPO-SM Shtorm 1 late version Vest
Early type Armokom Skif Helmet (2-point chinstrap)
    Leather halffinger Gloves
    Balaclava

I'm also wearing a KKO camo Kora-1 body armor underneath, just to make it
look as bulky as it's supposed to

    A reference pic, circa 2004:

    Cheers,
    Michel

Nice to see you ready for the unlawful meetings and anti Puttin marches Comrade michelwijnand...

      No Mercy.

Haha you bet, I'm ready for just about anything with all my gear :P
But this set-up just makes you feel awesome when you wear it, bulky and awesome.
This vest can carry some serious supplies for war-making, 8 mags, 8 frags, 8
VOG rifle grenades, 6 NSP flares, 2 pouches that could fit stripper clips or
whatever, and a backpack for more awesomeness, I love this vest

        Cheers,
        Michel

Love the helmet and gloves. Not sure if you're the right person to ask (considering you seem more into the post-Soviet periods) but how hard is it getting those STSh-81 helmets made before 1992?

Thank you, these unusual Russian/Soviet helmets really interest me the most.
I also am quite active in the Soviet period, about 75 of my Soviet uniforms aren't made into impressions yet, as there are not really a lot of different gear sets to use with it.

I believe the Soviet dated Sphera's are practically unfindable these days, unless you encounter one by pure coincidence, out of all the Sphera's I have seen in the recent years, maybe 2 out of 20 were Soviet, my Titanium Sphera is even dated 1995! So after they started producing the Steel one

            Cheers,
            Michel

Michel - Interesting to see that type of camoflage color and scheme. Thanks for posting.

Yes, there are many more variations and different patterns in urban colors, the one I like the most is the grey SMK as on the helmet though, it looks really war-y in pictures somehow

And now some new things again, together with some old things, as I had made a impression on the 1st page with a VSR winter uniform, balaclava and VSR vest, This impression is now split up, and 2 impressions have been made with that gear, and more!
I will split up another uniform from the 1st page too, the one with the 6B3 armor will be split up and improved.

Here's the first one, a Russian 1st Chechen War MVD Spetsnaz Winter Uniform,
                with:
                M93 Winter VSR Uniform
SMK camo Tactical vest for wearing over Body Armor (Made by NPO-SM company), very strange vest, with titanium plates over the shoulders, and one below the neck on the back, also soft armor collar and shoulder parts, there is a diagonal pouch on the back, which I have seen in use as bayonet pouch (ninja style!)
STSh-81-01 Sphera Titanium Helmet with VSR Cover
                Wool Balaclava and Gloves
                Soviet VDV style laced Boots

And the other one, Russian 1st Chechen War MVD Spetsnaz Summer Uniform,
this exact configuration can also be seen in KKO and Urban KKO camo, as seen on the reference pics below.
                With:
VDV cut M93 VSR Uniform (no lower pockets on the jacket, tucked into trousers)
Khaki Kora-1 Body Armor (other than in the reference pic, they are wearing BZh-SN body armors in 2 different colors, I hope to find this vest sometime too)
                VSR Tactical Vest
VSR Beret (Reference pics have dark green MVD beret, and maroon Spetsnaz beret, I will be receiving a green one soon)

Reference Pics (Moscow 1993, and Chechnya):

And then another Serbian impression, a Paramilitary, that could be either Republika Srpska or Krajina.
                With:
Green Tigerstripe Coverall (This version has small pockets on the leg)
Paramilitary style Vest out of tent halve fabric with the camo to the inside, this vest might have been inspired by the other paramilitary vests shown before (this one is made in Vukovar)
                Green Tigerstripe Winter Fur Cap

                Cheers,
                Michel

Michel - Since starting this thread, I have found it interesting to see so many different types of vests. Thanks again for posting.

Thanks again, I really have a thing for vests and helmets, and thus here are
some more uniforms with exotic vests again after me being out of the country for a while

Serbian SF soldier ca2002 or 03, with:
M93 camo Coverall (strange model maybe from earlier war, but still sometimes seen much later)
M97 Kevlar Helmet with Woodland Cover
MD97 Body Armor (Trial vest derived from the US made Point Blank Hi-Lite and Target Body Armor vest)
M02A2 Tactical Vest (strange thing with undetachable diagonal magpouches, and vertical stripes on the back to attach pouches sideways)
                    SF padded Boots

And another Soviet Afghan War uniform, VDV troops, with:
                    M76 VDV Winter Uniform (Almost a pseudo-winter-Mabuta
ZhZT-71 Body Armor (sometimes unofficially used when 6B* vest wasn't issued)
Chicom Chestrig (Acquired straight from A-Stan, sand mud and dubious material all over it, straps looked quite damaged, so I just hold it in fron of me instead of forcing it around my arms)
                    Type 1 VOG Bandoleer
                    Afghanka Cap
                    Mountain Backpack
VDV Laced Boots with padded top

And yet another Chechen War uniform, could be seen as both 1st and 2nd Chechen War, as used by MVD and OMON troops, with:
Urban SMK Uniform (Afghanka cut, apart from zipper up to the collar, and 2 extra zippered pouches, pants are like Mabuta summer pants)
KKO Camo V95 Vest made by ANA (Early version with metal buckles, and big zipper hanger with ANA logo on it, very rare thing)
                    Black Wool Hat

And a reference pic with some nice things in it, like V95 vest in Kamysh, VSR and KKO camo; NPO-SM Kaskad and Shtorm-1 vests in Reed camo, strange vest in SMK camo, SMK winter uniform, and Urban SMK uniform on the soldier on the right, which looks a lot like my impression indeed

And off course more will follow in the near future, as I have quite some more things in the mail, including off course some more vests

                    Cheers,
                    Michel

I heard this line in the movie Patton and thought of you Michel.... This fits you.

General Omar N. Bradley: George, I think if you were named Admiral of the Turkish navy, your aides could dip into their haversacks and come up with the appropriate badges of rank.

                      Thank you, Scott

Haha thanks, it fits quite well I think yes, if asked I could come up with all sorts of random things, so now
I only need to be promoted to some random country's army

And here's another impression, I've dismantled 1 I posted on the first page,
and decided to make 2 new ones with it, here's the first one, and the 2nd will be posted when some new stuff comes in.

This used to be an army impression, but now it's a (MorPeh) Naval Infantry impression,
though it could have an anchor patch on the sleeve, I do have an
extra patch, but I'm not a fan of adding things to uniforms that wasn't on it
originally, so here's a small list of the gear, and the pics:

M88 cut (6-pocket) summer TTsKO camo uniform variation
                        6B3T-M-01 Body Armor
                        SSh40 Steel Helmet
                        Camouflage Scrim Net

The uniform is a bit of a weird variation, as instead of 2 inner pockets it has 1 pocket and a pistol holster, like VDV version.
And the chestpockets are closed with only 1 button instead of 2, and the
shoulder pockets also close with 1 button, instead of velcro.
I'm guessing this set was produced in 1 of the smaller Soviet republics like
Moldova, as the colors also remind a lot of the Moldovan woodland pattern
I have posted a while back.
I also have 2 other TTsKO suits on the way, 1 is Soviet made in Russia, and the other is also a strange version.

                        Cheers,
                        Michel

Finally gotten round to finishing an impression with the awesome
Maska helmet, I felt like some sort of juggernaut in this.

If I counted right, this is my 99th impression already
And more will come soon too, as I still have some vests left which arrived
today, and still some uniforms and more vests in the mail, which is taking
                          forever to get here...

My new Russian 2nd Chechen War MVD Spetsnaz Uniform,
                          with:
                          ANA Gorka Uniform
Classcom Maska-1 Helmet with 1Sh Visor
                          Kirasa Vizov Body Armor
Sposn Kenguru-3 RPK Chestrig (Extremely rare thing, nobody even knows if
the camo pattern has a name)

The pouches on the rig fit 6 RPK mags, 4 Grenades, 4 Flares and some
documents, I've never even seen such a rig in pictures, but I have seen
a similar rig in the same camo, but made for SVD magazines, and I think I've
also seen a rare vest in it.

The armor could have an additional shoulder/neckpiece attached, and also
a dedicated webbingset on it, but I haven't seen those for sale separate yet.

Here's a pic that was my inspiration for this, the armor and chestrig are different models, but I've used that chestrig on an earlier impression already,
and I don't have the SMK Modul armor (yet!), also the Gorka suits seem
another color, but my new Gorka would fade to the same color after washing
                          and usage:

                          Cheers,
                          Michel

Michel - Very interesting update you have posted with your latest photos. I find your chest rig interesting, it appears to have longer a weapons magazines pouches.

Thanks, yes this rig is indeed a very strange thing, it is meant for the 40rd RPK
magazines, but even then the flaps still easily close all the way to the
button/tab at the bottom, and covers the whole piece of velcro on the flap.
Also strange, is that on the top, there is a smaller piece of velcro inside the
flap, of which I don't know the use, and there is an separate extra piece of
square material with velcro to the sides, that may be a pocket divider for
some pocket or another, but I haven't found out which.

And the pockets on the sides of the magpouches are for the long stick-flares,
                              and close sideways, very strange

                              Cheers,
                              Michel

Here you have it, my 100th completed impression, and it's another
Russian 2nd Chechen War MVD uniform, with the following items:

VSR Summer VDV Uniform Variation (Arm pockets with only 1 piece of velcro,
very light fabric, lots of design flaws, and no side pockets on the pants,
                                dated 1998)

                                ANA V95 Kamysh Camo Vest

Blue MVD Body Armor (with hideous flowerpower hippie armor with kevlar fabric with hard plates
sewn inside of it, see 3rd pic)

Camo Bandana (Russian seller calls it a Soviet pattern, it's like TTsKO but not it)

                                RusFed Laced Boots

                                Cheers,
                                Michel
