I would sincerely appreciate any information to help me identify this large case of Hungarian insignia. Any idea of value for this item would be very much appreciated. The case measures about 11" x 15" when closed. Thank you.

This is a presentation set meant to be distributed to dignitaries and the like when they visited the Minsitry of Defense or participated in maneuvers.
This particualr set of badges was only used for a very short time when they were introduced in 1974. I have yet to even see photgraphic evidence that they were even issued or worn. The badges were for enlisted men who had passed certain proficiency levels.
These cased sets along with several other types were sitting in the State Mint when the Wall came down and were then sold at auction in the mid 1990's to collectors, which have them ended up all over the place.
Generally I would not pay much for them in Hungary but on the open market $100-$150 is about a reasonable price
