Is this a good 1945 Cossack saber?

I just picked this up in our local gunstore. It was too cheap to walk away from, and seemed to have consistant cyrillic factory letters and construction so I snagged it.

I'm not a saber expert, but i know from Polish sabres collectors there a lot of chinese fakes of this sabre (in Europe especially).
So be aware.

Today on excavation near Moscow I have found one detail as on your shashka.Maybe it will help you for comparison.

The historical information: the Shashka has been accepted on arms of command and commanding structure of cavalry RККА, in other arms of the service — for those persons of command and commanding structure who needed to bear service astride. Since 1932 the Shashka rushed only at a finding in I build. In spite of the fact that per 1940 new samples of a cold steel for command and commanding structure RKKA have been accepted on arms, the Shashka of the sample of 1927 continued to be issued up to the end of the Second world war. For employees of People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of a Shashka of the given sample were issued with the nickelized device.

Uno, thanks for the pictures and info link. Very interesting that the cyrillic factory code is stamped on the underside of the grip, like in your photo.

ИМЗ - Instrumental Metal works (city the Zlatoust)
Letter Ц-means 1945-1946 of manufacture.
Letter Л on my photo means 1939 of manufacture.

Uno, does the ИМЗ 1945 on my saber look correct to you? I am trying to determine if mine is one of the knock-offs from China, or original.

That is an interesting detail on the letter markings meaning either year of manufacture, or factory code. Thanks for sharing that.
