Russian M36 helmet, early model, dated 1936

Hi All! Just want to show the M36 helmet from my collection. The helmet is in untouched condition! The liner and the chinstrap are original to the helmet and never been taken off from the helmet. Has ink stamps inside with 1936 year (first year of issue!!) and with size "3". Early type of the chinstrap, sewn in to the helmet's loops (not fastened with rivets as on the late models). The front Red Star is early type, with fat star and without sickle and hammer.

    Thanks!!

            Russian M36 helmet

Hello Espenlaub, a very nice helmet and pictures. Just today I received a nice looking M36 with good chinstraps but no liner. Looking at my bare helmet and your pictures, the question arises: how does the liner attach to the helmet shell?

              sorry for interrupting, but...

I believe the chinstrap rivets hold not only the chinstrap, but also the linerband , and the band may be missing .

                  Thanks JUONEEN re:Russian M36 liner

There is a horizontal rectangular plate, very thin and like spring steel, on the inside rear and held by the rear center rivet. On each side there is a more square piece that holds the chinstrap bale. I'm thinking maybe the band slips between these and the shell, since I can slip my fingernail in.
It's not of major importance right now, since I have no idea if repro band and liner sets are available. My first inquiry will be to Prairie Flower Leather Co., since I've done business with them and I know they offer at least a couple of liners for Adrian helmets. Thanks for your input.

                    Good Item!
Looks like First series helmets with stamp "ЗИ"[ZI]- За Индустриализацию(For Industrialisation) it's early stamp of Lysva metal factory.

                    In addition
There is the relic helmet with the liner in the picture.

it's very rare to find, because soldiers removed liners to wear helmets just over ushankas.

                      espenlaub,
In my collecting life I have had three of these, always liked them, but yours is one of the nicest I have ever seen! Congrats!

Since recently this gem is in my collection, from Espenlaub, through Gerald Berger to me. Lovely addition to my collection.
