Here are some OPFOR Documents used by the US Army in Berlin while playing "Soviet Army" on Maneuvers. "Soviet" Documents with russian wrinting and english Translation in a very small Print for Explanation.
Every has a Slot to insert the Army ID with a little window that only the Picture is shown.

Were they the same as the NTC OPFOR insignia, or different?

Never saw the "Soviet Style Patch".

Here we are:
At First Branch of Service for Armor and Motor rifles together with a Cap Badge.

Not a 100% sure about them. was told that it's an Officers Shoulder Loop worn together with a US Rank Insignia. the others are Arm Patches for EM Subaltern an Field Grade Officers.

Collar Patches (have to be cut in halves for use) for Armor and Motor Rifles.
