    don't know about the left hand side one, but the one on the right is soviet is for the taking of Berlin in 1945. Cheers, Torsten.

        Neither are East German, top one looks like it is from Vietnam. But just a guess.

            The first is Soviet occupation of Berlin and by the looks of it- orignial medal (40s-50s) with replaced ribbon (probably 80s). Should have a brass hanger piece...the other I would guess to be some other communist medal of the asiatic area...maybe Cambodia or Vietnam as pointed out earlier.

                  Hello all,

                  I just got it today and will take photos later.

                  The reverse of the medal says "for military merit" and the pin device on the reverse of the ribbon reads "El Oro" Military Jeweler - Jose J. Tupaz Jr. Quezon City, Philippines.
