The art of kissing The A$$

The commies just loved to kiss a$$es, in fact this was a very good way to success. But kissing not just any a$$, but The A$$, the bottom part of the beloved commie leader Todor Jivkov, this process gave birth to real kiss-masterpieces!!!!
Here is one. This thing accompanied his /second/ awarding "Hero of Pepople's Republic Bulgaria". The thing is huge. If still curious, see the pictures. On the front is written "People's Republic Bulgaria, Council of the ministers".
Inside there is a ridiculous laudatory text on 4 pages. On the central two pages there are two interesting pictures. On the left, young partisan Comrade Todor Jivkov waving the Red Flag, surrounded by victorious partisand and happy workers. On the right, older statesman Comrade Todor Jivkov, surrounded by happy scientists, writers, teachers, engineers, workers. Needless to say that he's again waving the red Flag... The last page dated 7 September 1981 and signed by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers Grisha Philipov.

...and if someone interested, here is a rough translation of the text:

The first page has a dear address: To the comrade Todor Jivkov, General Secretary of the Central Commitee of the Bulgarian Communist Party and Chairman of the State Council of People's Republic Bulgaria

The real kissing starts on the next page, with a tears-bringing-addressing to the dear comrade:
"Dear Comrade Todor Jivkov, The Council of Ministers of the People's Repubic Bulgaria is sincerely greeting you for your 70th birthday and awards you for the second time with the highest decoration of the Motherland - "Hero of the People's Republic Bulgaria". In this day to remember we again express our esteem and respect to you, the devoted son of the Bulgarian nation and of the own communist party, the worthy contimnuer of the work of Dimitar Blagoev and Georgi Dimitrov, the brave fighter against the fashist power. In this exciting day we want to show our deepest gratitude to you, the distinguished party and state leader follower of Lenin, the great patriot and internationalist, the ardent worker of the Bulgarian-Soviet friendship, inspired creator and organizer of the April line of the Party, famous figure of the international communist and workers' movement, popular and admired statesman and politic of our present. We admire and bow down before your enormous energy and creative initiative - a beginning point of your long-year leadership, dedicated to serving to the nation and the progress of the mankind, for the triumph of the communist ideal.
Still a youth, you streamed your powers in the struggle of the worker class, for the vctory of the work of the Party. True son of the of the nation, flaming revolutionary, fed, grown and tempered in the hard class struggle, you are an example for true service to the great communist ideology. Etc. etc. etc. etc. I just can't carry on with so much candy

Aww... he was only an AMATEUR compared to BREZHNEV!

Leonid gave himself, what, two MORE Hero Stars (so he had FOUR, as I remember) and... best of all, the Order Of Victory.

Not since the Middle Ages, when kings gave themselves new titles (and other people's land) has the ART of Kissing One's OWN Posterior been elevated to such heights as under the Soviet system!

I don't know Rick, I don't know, indeed it is only a second one, but also the year is only 1981, till 1989 he had enough time to get a basket of stars In fact I am not quite sure what exactly awards he had and also I am not at all interested But he was unlike Brejnev, never got high miltary ranks, never wore uniforms of medals, maybe only that star from time to time. His usual appearance was in official costumes and no orders. He was a witty peasant, a fighter for the communist ideas, but also according to many facts, an agent of the Royal Police... Indeed he was a partisan at the time of the revolt of September 1944 - he was hiding in the woods, but also noone was looking for him
