    Reliable dealers in soviet awards?

I´ll go directly to the point:

Do this offer the real thing?:

    http://www.russian-medals.net/

    http://www.russian-awards.com/Order.htm

Do you believe prices will continue falling?

    Many thanks

Both sites you have listed are very reputable dealers and offer "the real thing". Prices will, in my opinion, continue to fluctuate as collectors continue to sell either all or parts of their collections to make ends meet during this recession. Once we see the recession "bottom out" which, again in my opinion, will be in 2012, I believe prices will level out and, after that, rise sharply and quickly. If at all possible, take advantage of good deals as they present themselves and hold on to what you have!

Well I have been surprised about prices in those webs (Nevskys even for about 2.000 USD, when in other web pages they are much higher).

I belive that a fair price about one year ago could be about 4.000 USD (Type 3).

If I have analyzed properly, I believe that anyone desiring to buy one will still wait so prices will probably decrease more.

In any case, we are seeing a progression as I woludn´t have believed some months ago.

I take your comments under consideration. Thanks.

The first seller has been known to offer fakes, and has also been less than friendly.
        The second is quite good.

Your observation about Nevskys is very accurate
        Thanks,

          http://www.russian-awards.com/Order.htm ¿RELIABLE?

I wonder if I could a get from you some advice about any other dealer that offer prices adapted to the decrease that we are discussing.

His low end stuff should be safe, but I bought a Freindship of Peoples that turned out bad and it took months of fighting to get a refund.

The 'marketplace here, and at http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/index.php? is good.
            http://collectrussia.com/ Extremely good, but pricey.
            http://www.soviet-uniforms.com/index.html recommended.
            http://www.russianmilitaria.com/ safe. limited selection.

Post a 'wanted' here if you have anything specific you need. If others are like me they may have stuff laying around they're too lazy to try and sell.
            Thanks,
            Eric Gaumann

              Quick answer, thanks!

I needed some suggestions from one more experienced than me .

I am looking for the Nevsky I should have got 7 years ago when I though (idiot) that 500 € was too much because it doubled the price I first saw before. I believe the decrease on prices give me a second opportunity. I can afford 1.000 € so I will wait till any Nevsky in fair condition will come around.

              SALUDOS.

Few collectors i know will deal with the russian dealers....I know I dont ever see anything in the correct ball park in pricing. I can get a better guarantee from american dealers with the same stuff. Many russians are supposedly having guarantees, but try and get them to respond after they have your jack....Also too many copys ..in general. they buy most of the stuff over here. I also wont trade with them , as most of the ones ive met personally leave a lot to be desired in understanding how americans want to be treated. Its their way or the highway, so i avoid them in general. Especially those out of cali. This is my personal opinion, you may do as you please....I dont reccomend ANY.

                  I appreciate your comments.

So which American dealer would you suggest. Preferably dealing via a web page?

                  Many thanks.
