          alexander Nevsky medal

          i read that 42000 of these medals were issued if mine is numbered 41000 would that make this a rarer badge because its one of the last 1000 awarded?This badge has more gold finish on it.

            No, high numbers don't generally mean much in most cases. High numbered Nevskys sometimes do,
            if they were issued for action in Hungary in 56. Only research will determine that.
            Your second Nevsky looks good. The Red Banner is not my area although the mintmark raises a question.
            The numbering on it is fine; in line with 1944 long service awards possibly.

                Those are very nice looking awards! Thanks for sharing! Speaking about serial numbers, and the date of awards, the Nevsky in my collection was awarded in 1945 for actions in Czechoslovakia, and is serial numbered 27,713.
