    russian cap help

Can anyone tell me if this is a wartime or post war russian cap? as I know nothing about russian militaria

Probably post war. What are the markings inside? Usually there's a date or datecode.
    Thanks,

I can tell you that the cap badge is absolutely post war. The cap itself is another matter. I'm with Eric in that I'd like a look inside.

I can make out a 58, is that possibly 1958? All the other markings are to faint to read. I dont know if it helps but there is also a grey rubber/plastic sweatband present
        Thanks

58 is the size. About a 7 1/4 for those in the US.
I'm not an expert either but I'd guess the odds of that being WW2 are very low. As Greg said the capstar is definitly not.
          Thanks,

The sidecap is late postwar issued.

Here are Red Army officer's and soldier's early postwar sidecaps made of wartime materials.

Both made by "Krasniy Voin" factory.
