Help Needed with Soviet Award!!!

Hi Guys!

I don´t know much about Soviet Awards, but I am pretty sure this is some kind shooting awards from 1959?

Can anyone help me? What exactly is this?

Could we have some better images of the type (lettering)? How did you arrive at the 1959 date? Right now, I'm leaning more toward Bulgarian rather than USSR.

Thanks for your input.

The badge is not in my possesion (helping a friend to sort it out) I am going to ask him for better pics of the text.

The 1959 conclusion was because the litte rhomb/diamond has that year on it.

Soviet was due to the red star with the hammer and sickle, to me that is Soviet but maybe all the other Eastern Block Communist states also used it as their sign?

This is nonoficial memorial badge "In memory from the Soviet Army" issued especially probably for allied Army officer or unit.

Bulgarian military badges usually had the raging lion rather than the hammer & sickle on their stars.
The date 1959 is written on the small rhomb hanging at the bottom of the award.

Sorry, I just couldn't see the date on the rhombus- still can't. Old eyes...

While it is true that most Bulgarian badges use the Lion, stars with hammers and sickles were used on many of the earlier badges.

At any rate, Komandir RKKA has cleared this mystery up.
