    1917 Photo Postcard - Comments, Please

    A friend in Kiev sent me this wonderful photo. If anyone has comments, I would like to know more about it.

      That is a great photo, the gentleman on the right should be a model!
      It looks like this was taken in Rostov. The mix of Tsarist and civilian outfit makes me think it is an early white army pic or possibly a wartime unit that is out of the line.

        Interesting picture. Obviously wartime as it is dated 1 November 1917. The writing on the back indicates three brothers in the photo and a Russian friend. Only the Russian's names is written in Cyrillic. The other three come from a country that writes their last names first. Now to figure out what country would have three brothers in Russia during the first world war.

          The picture is not war related.
          These men are not brothers (all have different sernames)- just friends stadied in same institute or technical school (because of students uniform)
