    Soviet winter hood/cap

Hi. Can anyone tell me if are these common and what are they worth?

    Thanks in advance

I've seen these, together with the a few different suggestions as to what they are (air crew helmets, paratroop helmets, winter thermal headgear for arctic regions etc etc)

No idea which, if any, is correct though.

One thing though, that really obvious "1941" on that looks really suspect to me. The Soviets weren't into an*l markings like that. If anything it would probably read "41", but likely as not, it wouldn't have anything at all. Looks like some sort of attempt to talk the value up to me...

I take it you havent bought it yet

Another theroy is anti gas hoods.

I have seen these, with a variety of slightly different markings, but all '41.

They seem to be around £40 here at Beltring show. But I have not bought one either.

        Cheers, Ade.

So part of an earlier OZK set?

The whole OZK thing has been fascinating and puzzling me recently. Surprised me that the idea of a chemically impregnated "anti-chemical" uniform would still be in use right up to the end of the 80's.

I know the British had battledress from WW2 that was "anti-gas" - with a chemical treatment to counter mustard agent, but it strikes me as odd to see basically the same thing in the 80's....
