absolutely gorgeous enameled material! The worst that could happen to
any combloc collector would be to contract color-blindness.

Let's go to Yugoslavia... Brotherhood and unity 2nd class, 6 torches; for me on eof the nicest yugoslav decorations.

order of the republic, 3rd class... I realize in Yuga the most popular colors were red (of course ) and white.

This one is not yugoslav, but soviet, and although from later years, the enammel is surprisingly good (in reality much better than on the pic).

                  Greg,

Interesting way to display of some very fine pieces I would be intersted in seeing a close-up of that Bulgarian Partisan Badge.

                    Hey John,

There are actually three pieces in the Bulgarian badge grouping that could be called partisan badges; could you describe the one to which you are referring? By the way, you and Valter have some great Yugoslavian pieces!

                      Hello there,

Nothing unusual or particularly gorgeous, but here´s part of my enamel collection. All other pieces have been previously posted by other members, so it´d be reiterative to post them.

I´d particularly like to highlight badges 5 and 6.
No. 5 is Hungarian MSHSZ, which was a paramilitary organization, equivalent of soviet DOSAAF or GTO
No 6 is a Mongolian medical school badge, 1960´s. I´ll post better images soon so we can appreciate the white enamel work, perfectly and carefully applied.

Finally, here´s one of my favorites. Simple and elegant design, frequently looked down upon because of its low quality. I think PRL era awards deserve more merit, but the easily breakable enamel is a point. This award has never fallen from my hands, but there is already a small chip on its lower left tip.

                        Please do!

I agree. The only PRL era award that gets any real recognition by collectors is the Virtuti Militari.

My personal favorite PRL award is the grand cross breast star to the Polonia Restituta Order. Too bad I never picked one up when they were only $500.

                          Hi Greg,

I sorry about that you are right. I'm talking about the Type II For Peoples Freedom Badge. It's the one with the Red Star with the wreath and the male and female partisans in the center .

Thanks! I picked mine up when I was in Bosnia during the SFOR7 rotation. I wish I would have picked up the Order of the Yugoslav Flag -4cl that I had a chance to buy. The vendor in Tusla would not come down any lower then $200USD, which was a steal but I didn't know it at the time . That seems to be a pattern I have developed over the years.

When I was younger I had the chance to pick the neck cross for USD 60 or so. I still regret not being interested in PRL awards by the time!

I will take better pictures of this cross as well, as soon as the sun rises.

Here are a couple of East German Socialist Labor and Socialist Activist awards. These awards like PRL awards often get snubbed by collectors. What I learned over on the WAF DDR Forum is that these badges came with a cash reward, which I'm sure was well received by the recipient more so then the actual award.
