    MVD parade belt

I recently acquired this belt from ebay.According to the description,it is a MVD parade belt for officer in 1950's.It has metal thread made surface.
These are the photos i took

Is this belt the same as the one used by the army/airforce officers?
    Thanks!

    81REDSTAR,

This looks like the standard post war military belt to me. The MVD wore a different belt with just one wide stripe in the centre but with the same buckle. I just bought one of these belts at a militaria show last weekend and I'll post a picture of it as soon as I can. I have a picture of the two belts side by side in a reference book as well. I'll post a picture from the book as well. I am in the hotel for a couple of weeks while a construction firm jack hammers my roof top terrace to replace the water proofing. Every time it rains I have Niagara Falls on the main floor of my apartment! Hence my delay in getting to my home take pictures etc.

    Regards,

    Gordon

Regular MVD troops wore the three stripe belt and MVD Militsia (Police) wore the single stripe belt that Gordon mentioned.

Hope everything goes well with that rooftop Niagara falls must be quite nice to see and all that, but to have them at home...

        81REDSTAR,

Sorry that I forgot to differentiate between regular uniforms MVD Troops and the MVD Militia but STEBALIN covered that. Most of what I know about these belts comes as info from him anyway. He did point out to me earlier that the lined belts like you have are early belts. Later belts don't have this second layer on the inside. Forgot to bring my camera with me today so no pictures of my belt but here is a scan from László Békési’s book "KGB & SOVIET SECURITY UNIFORMS & MILITARIA 1917-1991" showing both belts side-by-side. I know László, he lives here in Budapest, and his book has proved very useful. He is a long time Russian/USSR militaria collector.

        Regards,

        Gordon

          To STEBALIN,gordon.criag:
Thanks for the info and pic.I have the book too.
I was wondering if the metal thread surface belt was for MVD personal inc the VV and Militia before the orange color belt.I thought all the MVD troops and personel has the same belt in the early days.

Can anyone clarify the tag painted on the belt?

            81REDSTAR,

Here is a photo of the markings in my belt similar to yours. It appears to be an inspectuon/acceptance marking. The OTK stamps show up in a lot of Soviet gear. Yours apppears to be slightly different than mine.

            Regards,

Here is a photo of my two belts next to each other. The three stripe belt appears new and unworn. Probably left behind when the Russian left Hungary. The Militia belt has seen a fair amount of use.
