    Soviet pistol holster?

    Hi guys,

This is far from my collecting focus so I'm not sure just what I have. Can any of you assist with it's identification and period of issue? Thanks.

    Regards,
    Stu

PS: The leading edge of the holster flap has been worn rolled under like shown. You can tell by the wear pattern although the flap, when unfolded, is wider.

            I would say it's a 1950's Tokarev Holster.

              Thanks.

              Hi Nico,

That sounds correct as it was with a mixed group of field gear some of which was dated in the 50s.

              Stu

I have a later period holster which is quite similar, it has the same pattern as yours but mine is all smooth brown leather. It was described by the seller as a Makorov holster rather than a Tokarev holster but I suppose that one size fits all.

                  "Makarov" holster (of course postwar)

It´s a Tokarev Holster. Makarov holsters have a different shape and I haven´t found a leatherette makarov holster nowhere; all of them were soft leather.

I´d say that it´s exactly made in 1950.

                      Compare shapes.
And most important - the lenght of cleaning rod.

It's a Tokarev holster. Makarov's cleaning tool has different form. Made in june 1950 - see on stamp.
