im hoping that is good.. as i traded some original german piece for it ( a tinnie + medal)

Most probably this is one of the over 200,000 (!) pieces awarded in 1966 / 1967.

did these awards differ quite abit during 1960's?

i only ask because ive compared my piece to images other badge of honors and in the small details it looks different(?)

The Badge of Honour comes in many variations. Make sure you are comparing it against the correct one from the right period of issue.

Yes, all four types of this order have several variations. Have a look at this site for variations of the concave reverse type, just like yours (it's in Russian, but pictures tell a thousand words):
