Your Order of Lenin medal is a type 6 and variant 1 issue with stamped serial numbers below two rivets. Its likely from early 1960s to mid-1960s. This was minted by Leningrad Mint. I owns almost identical order of Lenin like yours but my Lenin's serial number was stamped between the Leningrad Mint mark and two rivets. BTW,nice Order of Lenin!

In addition to the $1,800 USD, isn't there also a 5 year prison sentence for attempting to remove the order from Russia?

CollectRussia has always been more expensive than other dealers or eBay.

It's a fact that Order of Lenin prices have dropped considerably the last couple of months; they used to sell for around 3000 USD a couple of months ago, but even on eBay they are now selling for much less. A Lenin with booklet sold for 2100 USD four days ago, and a nice Lenin in the 10xxxx range sold for 1950 USD yesterday.

Not so sure I'd use e-bay as a price reference. Often rare items go at rock bottom bargains, common items sometimes sell through the roof.

I think eBay is actually the best price reference. Large amounts of Soviet awards are being sold there every day, so it's pretty easy to distinguish an average price for most awards. Of course there are some price fluctuations, but those depend on numerous factors, like shipping charges, seller's location, description accuracy, picture quality, etc. If a rare item goes at a rock bottom bargain, something was wrong with the listing or it was simply not what is was supposed to be. When common items are selling for high prices, that's simply a result of the good old supply and demand model, as we have been seeing with Soviet Awards the last years.
