These are some of my favorites. I love the old ribbons and the early suspensions.
I suspect most of you are familiar with these but for those that don't here's what we have.

Top left: Soviet Medal for Bravery, Type 1 V3
Top right: Mongolian Medal for Combat, Type 1 V2
Bottom left: Soviet Combat Service medal, Type 1 V3
Bottom right: Mongolial Honorary Labor medal, Type 1 V2

    Thanks,

Not sure I ever saw a Mongolian medal before. Very cool. Thanks for posting.

These are very nice. Love the design of the Mongolian awards! Also like that the original, well worn ribbons are still on there.

Here's my War Merit medal, also with original ribbon and uncut ring:

They have a great aesthetic don't they? Most of the early Mongolian awards were made in Moscow although I am unaware of who designed them.
Here's an image of the same two medals with two orders as well.

Eric - I have seen a number of your threads and posts over the years related to your displays and I want to say I continue to be impressed with the way you are displaying your collection. Thanks...

I agree, Mongolian awards are beautiful, they're a great combination of Soviet workmanship and Mongolian symbolism.

As for the original post: since the second Mongolian medal is a labor medal, I'd say the Soviet Medal for Valiant Labor would be a more exact counterpart.

                    I wouldn't say better.

About the first type labor medal, they are damn rare...

Thank you Eric for the interesting comparison!

Gee, what a contrast between a cool swimming pool and mongolian steps!

Yeah thanks, that was a great shot. I took some good photos, back in the day, outside in the bright Florida sun. I'll be damned if I can recreate them these days.
                      Thanks,
