Thanks for the response guys. Calling them Russian was just a guess and that is what the vendor thought they were. I guess I have to keep looking to identify them.
I've never seen these before either. But according to linden leaves I'd suggest check Czehoslovakia also. A linden is a Slavic tree, but as a simbol I've never seen it used in Russia. It's used frequently in Slovenia (the wings are surely not from Slovenia or ex-YU), but I also noticed it on Czech items.
