Hello, I am new to this board and wonder if any of you could help me identify a pair of North Korean shoulder boards I have. They are green and silver. Sorry, not much to go on but they came back with a silk North Korean flag. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

From the Korean War you mean, or later?
Early PDRK officers' insignia was copied from the Soviet type, so the number of stripes and stars indicate rank. Gold metallic weave tops on officers' boards were for combatant arms, while silver was for technical branches.
I'm not sure how exactly they copied Soviet branch colors, but a lightish green may be Border Guards (State Security). Dark green, with a contrasting red or brick red stripe or stripes up the board would be administration or medical. All dark green would be some sort of militarized civil service.
We're just feeling our way around the awards here, as you will see checking further back, and nobody has posted anything on insignia yet--welcome aboard! Rick
