This just arrived in the mail today and I thought I would share a pic. It is a Soviet Order of Friendship of Peoples. The medal was established December 17, 1972. The Order was awarded to citizens and other countries for outstanding service in the promotion of cooperation and friendship between peoples and in the strengthening of peace. The award was issued approximately 100000 times, I have number 3923.

Wonderful! This is one of the most beautiful awards of the last century! Perfect design and quality! Btw. they were awarded about 72760 times.

I agree, I think this is one of the most beautiful medals that the Soviets made. I even like it better then the Order of Lenin, which is a more prestigious and considerably pricier medal.
