WWII Chinese Communist Officer's cap?

anybody collect early Chinese communist hats? I think this one is a Chinese officer's cap?

This is Type 55 Visor Cap. But it is not a nice hat. The silver star on the cap wall is the star attached to the shoulder boards. The original cap insignia is like this:

do you think this could have been used during the Korean War? or did they use a different style during the Korean War?

The cap was only issued after 1955 and removed from service at 1965 when the M55 uniform system was removed from service.Therefore it was not used during the korean war.However it is used from 1955 until 1958 by CPV forces in korea.The badge is on the bottom right of segmund tang's pic.It without the 81 symbol and only has red star.
The CPV forces did not use cap during the korean war,they used mainly hat,so are the KPA,but in one history programme,i did see a KPA officer wearing visor cap during time before signing the cease fire agreement.

would they use this badge? would this badge be correct to use on a 1955 hat?

1955 would be around the time after the defeat of the French at the battle of Dien Bien Phu,
so maybe Chinese military advisors in North Vietnam would have worn this hat?

Hi there!The cap badge is not correct for the 1955 regulation.It is for M85 uniforms.You can loot at the red star in M55 badge which is within the boundary of the gold edge.The red star of M85 cap badge is on the boundary of the gold edge.
The M55 uniform was start issuing around begining of october 1955,and the advisors in vietnam may not use chinese army uniforms or did not receive the new uniform at that moment.My knowledge is lacking of details of the uniform of Chinese military advisors, but as far as i can catch,the Chinese military advisors in vietnam did not wear uniform of chinese army but with uniform of vietnamese people's army. I have read a article about Chinese military advisors in vietnam once,and i saw the advisors are wearing white T shirts and yellow uniform pants,perhaps due to the weather condition in vietnam.

yes, I can see how the original badge has a smaller red star within the gold boundary, but it does look very similiar, I will probablly put this on my hat anyways so it will be close to the original as possible, it will look better than whats on the hat right now
